POEM: "On The Road"

On The Road

First-quarter moon
behind the clouds tonight
emerging, disappearing
reminds me of a story
a guy told me once
that living is poisonous
all of us are born to die
and this Bardo world
means to teach us how to
forget the moon & the clouds
which is maya and maya
they will put you on your ass
I said thank you
this is my turn-off
we both laughed
you said forget this

I said not a chance.

  1. Both scholarship and the popular press seem to have come down a bit hard on Jack these last couple of decades or so. My defense (which is basically that because we cannot take too much reality, we then look for reasons to disparage its various agents) of course isn't actually necessary. For those brave souls who haven't yet given up on their golden child, this little piece below might be good for your perfect hearts. Enjoy your pancakes.
